Process of writing a personal historyMilestones, The Gift of a Lifetime makes the process of writing your memoirs as enjoyable as possible for you. An initial consultation helps us get acquainted. At that time we identify the scope of your book or video, the milestone events you wish to capture and the people who can help tell your story—family, friends, colleagues. We will also identify the resources that will enhance your life story, including family albums, diaries, travelogues and documents.

Interviews are informal, recorded conversations in your home, typically 1 to 1 ½ hours in length. One week prior to each meeting you will receive questions that will help to jog your memory about people and events in your life.

Anecdotes and memories are drawn out and transformed into compelling narratives, organized, edited and laid out in a professionally designed book, e-Book, or produced in a digital format.

You will receive a manuscript including photos and captions based on our interviews. Corrections and/or changes are made by the client after which the manuscript is copy edited again, proofread and prepared for publishing. Milestones, the Gift of a Lifetime will coordinate with a printer to deliver your specified quantity of books.
